Community Building Projects

Parishioners of St. Mary's Parish are encouraged to join other parishioners providing and supporting projects that help build parish community. The following projects provide work, play and camaraderie while building parish community:

Art Work

A variety of art work is needed for parish activities and Religious Education projects.


Breakfast

About six Sundays a year a breakfast is provided from 8:a.m. to 11:15 a.m. at the Social Hall. Parishioners plan, purchase supplies, cook, wash dishes, wait on tables, set up and clean up. The menu includes pancakes, ham or sausage, eggs, toast, coffee, tea or hot chocolate.

Building & Grounds Maintenance

Parishioners help maintain the interior of our buildings through volunteering time or arranging for professional help. The exterior of our buildings, lawns, shrubbery and parking lot maintenance are also included in this responsibility.

Coffee & Donuts

Coffee and donuts are available after 9:00 a.m. Mass on most Sundays in the Social Hall of the Religious Education Building. Exceptions are major holidays and when breakfast is being served.

Covered Dish Dinner

An annual fall event, hosted by the Ladies Auxiliary, to welcome new parishioners into the Ladies Auxiliary. A guest speaker is invited. All women and men of the parish are invited to attend.

Fish Dinners

Coordinator: Ladies Auxiliary

On the first three Fridays of Lent, an evening full-course fish dinner is available in the Social Hall. Parishioners plan, purchase supplies, cook, wash dishes, wait on tables, set up and clean up.

Hoagie Sales & Preparation

Coordinator: Men of St. Mary's

Several times a year hoagies are sold to the parish community. They are prepared at the Social Hall in the Religious Education Building. The profits from these sales are used to support parish projects, parish charities and the Men of St. Mary's activities.


Holiday Bazaar

Coordinator: Ladies Auxiliary

The Bazaar is held on the first Saturday of November in the Religious Education Building. Highlights include:

Parish Picnic

The picnic is a reasonably priced social gathering held during the summer under the parish pavilions. Highlights include:

Catered Buffet Children & Family Games
Bingo Live Entertainment


Setup & Cleanup for Activities

Parishioners offer their time and talent to organize materials and equipment. They help setup and cleanup for various parish activities. Some activities are annual and others address a specific need. All parishioners are welcome to help at all parish activities.


Spaghetti Dinner

The Spaghetti Dinner is sponsored by the junior high Confirmation class and is held on the last Saturday of September. A full spaghetti dinner is offered at a reasonable price. Proceeds go to the Heifer Project.
