Men of St. Mary's

The Men of Saint Mary's is an organization of male parishioners, dedicated to service and commitment to our parish community. We are not a social organization, but do sponsor activities to gather the parish together in events that share both fellowship and entertainment.

The organization meets every second Sunday of the month following the 9:00 a.m. Mass in the Religious Education Building, unless otherwise noted in the bulletin.

The Men have contributed to the parish in various fund-raising efforts, specifically the Hoagie Sales, which helped raise the Parish Pavilion, and fund continuing support of Parish maintenance projects.  The Men's group supports many other initiatives such as the H.O.P.E. Project [Helping Other People
E
nthusiastically], the Confirmation Candidates' spaghetti dinner, Soup Kitchen, Christmas flowers for shut-ins, blood drives, and Parish property projects. Fund-raising efforts also support charitable contributions to organizations such as Mary's Shelter, Kennedy House, Eastern Pa Downs Syndrome, and the Allentown Rescue Mission.

The Men have co-sponsored the annual "Keeping Christ in Christmas" Poster Contest for the youth of the parish. We also support the Youth Ministry of our parish in their various service efforts. The Men have also participated in different spiritual endeavors, such as the Catholic Men's Conference in Stubenville, Ohio, monthly adoration/benediction, retreats, and Small Faith Sharing Communities.

Social activities sponsored by the Men have included:

  • Parish Card/Game Nights
  • Parish Night at the Reading Phillies
  • Annual Golf Outing
  • Oldies Night
  • Annual Christmas Dinner
  • Annual Pilgrimage to Our Lady of Czestochowa In Doylestown

All men of the parish are cordially invited to join the organization and become an active part of this group of fellow parishioners. We invite all those interested to attend the next monthly meeting; no dues are required, just your commitment to serve.  All interested are also welcome to contact the current officers of the organization for more information about the Men of Saint Mary's, which has been in existence for eleven years.
